Military History, BA

The Military History Major provides students an in-depth view of warfare and its consequences in multiple historical contexts. The variety of courses offered include the Crusades and the Age of the Samurai, as well as options covering the great wars of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Students may analyze the history of tactics and strategy, while also exploring the social, cultural, economic, religious and global effects of warfare. While the focus of the major is in the History department, students have the opportunity to collaborate with the Military Science and Leadership program and complete research projects on warfare and its effects through history.
