Irish Studies is a global discipline that cultivates a transnational perspective on history, language, culture and politics in their study of Ireland as a postcolonial, increasingly globalized nation. The lrish Studies minor offers students an understanding of the historical and cultural development of Ireland and the Irish diaspora in their significant intellectual, artistic, material and spiritual contributions to world civilization.

The minor requires 18 cr. hrs. consisting of six courses selected from the list below. Students may seek permission from the program director to apply other courses on relevant topics to the requirements of the program, including courses completed abroad and Marquette-sponsored travel courses.
