Independent Study courses provide students the opportunity to study and investigate areas of interest not available through normal course offerings. A 6995/7995/8995 course may be taken on the recommendation of students' advisers and with the approval of the department chairperson. An Independent Study approval form must be completed for each 6995/7995/8995 course and is available on the Marquette Central academic forms website. Normally, no more than six credits of 6995/7995/8995 course work can be included in a master’s degree program, and no more than nine credits can be included in a doctoral program.
