Elementary/Middle Education, BS

Director of Teacher Education: Terry Burant, Ph.D.

The Elementary/Middle Education major leads to a teaching license for grades K4-9. Students who select this program must meet the College of Education’s admission and retention requirements and must complete the following components:

  1. The Marquette Core Curriculum (MCC)
  2. An Elementary/Middle Education major, which includes specific state-mandated general education requirements
  3. An additional academic major from the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences or the Diederich College of Communication

Students who intend to complete the teacher education program through the Marquette University College of Education are strongly encouraged to meet with the assistant dean of undergraduate advising and student services in the Office of Teacher Education as early as possible to avoid delays in their program.
