The School of Dentistry uses the grade point system to determine students' academic average and eligibility for promotion and graduation. Each grade (A through F) earned in a course carries a specific number of grade points. The grade points earned in any given course equal the grade point value of the grade multiplied by the total number of semester hours credited. The grade point average (GPA) is the total number of grade points earned divided by the total number of semester hours credited in those courses for which grade points have been assigned.
