Marquette University College of Nursing, founded in 1936, has more than 8,000 alumni making a difference in health care every day, nationwide. Marquette nurses embody the Jesuit traditions of living lives of faith, promoting excellence, becoming leaders and serving others. As such, Marquette nursing is an integral part of the university's Catholic, Jesuit mission.
Marquette faculty are expert teachers, recognized clinicians and accomplished researchers. They are at the forefront of developing evidence on which nurses base their practice. All of these individuals come together in the classroom to teach, mentor and demonstrate the highest level of professional nursing practice for our students.
Marquette offers many innovative programs that address the challenges seen in health care today: bachelor of science in nursing, master of science in nursing, post-master’s certificates, doctorate of nursing practice and doctor of philosophy. All programs uniquely qualify the Marquette graduate to assume leadership roles in the profession.

Marquette meets the quality standards for initial licensure as a registered nurse and certification for roles as nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives and nurse practitioners in adult-gerontology and pediatrics with specializations in both acute and primary care.

Student Organizations
MU Student Nurses Association (MUSNA)
The Marquette University Student Nurses Association (MUSNA) is the College of Nursing representative body of the Associated Students of Marquette University (ASMU), the central student governmental body of the university, and the University Chapter of the Wisconsin Student Nurses Association, a constituent organization of the National Student Nurses Association.
MUSNA coordinates and promotes student activities within the College of Nursing and promotes professional, educational and social activities for nursing students. Officers and representatives from each level within the college are elected annually as is a representative to ASMU. Students may be active at the local, state or national levels.
Honor Society
Sigma Theta Tau, International is an international professional honor society with constituent chapters in collegiate schools of nursing. The mission of the organization is to promote scholarship and leadership in nursing practice, education and research. Delta Gamma-at-Large Chapter is a joint chapter between Marquette College of Nursing and Alverno College.
Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students, as well as nursing leaders in the community. Candidates enrolled in the College of Nursing must have junior or senior standing and are selected on the basis of superior scholastic achievement, potential leadership qualities and desirable personal qualifications. Faculty and registered nurses in the community are selected on the basis of special interest in Sigma Theta Tau, International and marked achievement in the field of nursing.

An introduction to perioperative clinical nursing practice encompassing preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative nursing.
